Privacy is one of those things you don't think about until you don't have it. Whether it's neighbors, foot traffic, or just wanting a defined space to call your own - a solid fence makes a real difference in how you use your yard.

Board-on-board is one of our favorite styles to build. The way the boards alternate and overlap means there are no gaps, no sightlines through the fence, and no weak spots where wind can get underneath and cause problems over time. It looks clean on both sides, which is a big deal if you share a property line with a neighbor.

We use quality cedar for builds like this. Cedar is naturally resistant to rot and insects, it holds up well in the elements, and it has that warm, rich tone right out of the gate. Over time it weathers into a beautiful silver-gray if left natural, or you can stain it to keep that fresh look longer. Either way, you're getting a fence built to last.

What we're proud of on every board-on-board job is the consistency. Every board is set straight, the top rail runs level, and the whole run ties together cleanly from one end to the other. That kind of detail is what separates a fence that looks good in a photo from one that actually holds up and keeps looking sharp years down the road.

If you've been sitting on the idea of replacing an old fence or finally putting one in, this style is worth a hard look. It checks the boxes on privacy, durability, and curb appeal - all at once.
